I Just Couldn’t

Computer-Frustration-Cartoon-2

I couldn’t do it. As hard as I tried and as many times as I begged for help from my unsuspecting husband, I just couldn’t come up with a topic for I. My creativity bank refused to cash me a check, as it were. I see you’re probably rolling your eyes. Really? you’re thinking. Not one interesting topic popped into your brain all week? Well, I had plenty of topics, but interesting is the operative word. Take a look at what I mean:

Ice cream– too distracting. I’d have to get up and make myself a bowl
Intelligence (military)– it’s all classified so what’s the point
Imperial Russia– um, no
Influenza– the feel good post of the week. I was trying to tie it into WWI
Imposter-myself, for thinking I could get away with sounding like a credible writer for the week 139-HeadlessHorsemanwith such a bad post
Ichabod Crane-inspired from watching Fox’s new show Sleepy Hollow. Not really a topic there except this new Headless Horseman wields an assault rifle.

So, if you’re daring to be truthful, who else has struggled with a topic? Not just this week, but any week or day when the writing muse decides to take a vacation.

I’m raising my hand- I’ve struggled! I will go to the dictionary and go through all the words of that letter till something pops out at me. Sometimes, you just have to stretch it a little. One year, I used xcited for my X post. 🙂

Funny you mention the dictionary because that’s what I did, or at least the glossary in my pirate/scottish/world war books. I figure everyone is allowed a blah week or two.

Me! Me! Me! I couldn’t decide what to do until the last minute. I originally wanted to do “Ink” and talk about tattoos. (I might have one or two.) Changed at the last minute to idioms. But I do like ice cream!

You should keep the tats in mind for T. I’d like to read that.

I struggled with I, too, and had actually prepared a post that I ended up ditching because after we returned from our cruise, inspiration hit. Sometimes it takes a 2×4 to hit me over the head. Have a fabulous weekend, J’Nell. 🙂

The cruise was definitely worth posting about! I’ve learned the harder I try the more elusive it is. Probably why my brain didn’t want to work this week.

I’ve sort of been avoiding my projects the past few days for this very reason. My brain was fried from conference and daily living responsibilities! I get this, I do! 🙂

At least you had a reason to be tired. Mine was … oh wait! Pregnancy brain! The perfect scapegoat.

I escaped the headscratch this week because of the iPhone class. 🙂

Maybe we should come up with a cheat sheet that we can pass around.

LoL. All that and you DID manage to come up with something FUN!! =] Way to go!

And yes. I can TOTALLY relate. Before taking the iPhoneography class my handy-dandy A to Z list had Insane (don’t ask), Ice storms, Incense, and Insects. NOT an easy letter for sure but you nailed it. =] Good job. =]
